Cart or Music Room?

Once again our music room started as a classroom and much to my great delight the portables have been put on in the correct order and beautiful music can flow into the halls at Wilson out of the music room again.

One of my favourite additions is the "blossom tree." Most students enter and ask me why I have have a "Christmas Tree" in my room. I love it because, as we talked about the first week of school, we all have the power to help each other grow and be our best. It is there to remind my students and I to do our best to make our class a place where people feel safe to create and compose and learn to their full potential, and as we are kind and supportive we can help each other to become that!

We are starting to fill up our Word Wall of Music Tools as we learn all sorts of exciting things about rhythm. We have been learning these tools by using tennis balls, hearts, pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks and drums to learn how to keep the beat and how long notes are.
