Junk Instruments

We have been learning about all the musical families: wood, metal, shakes and scrapes and membranes (drums). As we experiment and explore different instruments we notice that one instrument can have many different timbres (sounds). Students have started created their own musical instruments and are challenged to create them in such a way that different timbres can be heard from one instrument and then able to classify it in its family or families. It is so fun to see all the unique ideas they come up with and how proud they are of their creations!
